Becker muscular dystrophy
Rune, Christian and William.
Becker muscular dystrophy is an X-chromosome linked recessive disease, which causes the musclefibres to decrease in size. The disease appears between the age of 2 and 21, but the average age is 11. Death can occur from the age of 40, but some live a normal lifespan.
On this hereditary we can assume that only the women can pass on the disease. The disease is X-chromosome linked and because of that her sons have 50 percent risk of getting Becker muscular dystrophy. If the mother is diseased her sons will have a certainty of 100 percent to receive the disease.
